HV Gamer Con 2020 Postponed Until Sept. 12 and 13
Albany, N.Y. – Out of an abundance of caution for its expected thousands of attendees, HV Gamer Con 2020 has announced it will postpone all activities until Sept. 12 and 13. The ECAC Collegiate Invitational, High School tournament, public tournaments and expos will take place at that time.
All tickets purchased prior to this announcement will be valid for this fall’s event.
HV Gamer Con 2020 will feature the ECAC ESports Fall Invitational in Overwatch, Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Gaming Insomniacs will facilitate a 16-team high school tournament in NBA 2k20 and Super Smash Bros. Compete4Ever organizer and SNY host Larry Ridley will host a Madden 20 and NBA 2k20 tournament that will be open to the public and feature local gamers. Gaming Insomniacs will also host a mobile Fortnite tournament that all attendees can participate in, with thousands of dollars in prizes.
In addition to the gaming, HV Gamer Con will feature four panel discussions with topics including “The Local Boom of Gaming Companies (and Careers Available), “How to Get Recruited to Play Esports in College” (both days) and “Wellness for the Gamer.”

HV Gamer Con will bring together the best esport athletes from colleges across the Northeast for a full weekend of gaming competition on Sept. 12 and 13, 2020 at the Albany Capital Center. In addition to the gaming, vendors and exhibitors from the biggest names in tech will be on hand for a Gaming Expo. The weekend’s events are being put on by a partnership that includes Albany Capital Center (ACC), Center for Economic Growth (CEG) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The event is supported through a grant from the Regional Economic Development Councils and I Love NY.
