COVID19 UPDATES & INFORMATION
In accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH), Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Albany County Health Department regarding the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, the Albany Capital Center remains closed.
Since the beginning of New York Pause we have been diligently to prepare for New York Forward. Albany Capital Center Sales and Event staff continues to work with our existing and new clients to accommodate events previously booked for this time to be held on alternative dates later this year or next year. In addition, we continue booking new events for the coming months and years.
During this time as working rules allow the Albany Capital Center has been moving forward with planned facility maintenance and upgrades originally scheduled for fall 2020. The building is currently undergoing a deep cleaning with disinfectant measures as well as minor facility upgrades.
Although there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding reopening, we are working to learn how we can proceed in the "new normal". Here are some tools, resources, and additional information we've compiled for you in the meantime:

WHEN DO YOU ENVISION OPENING FOR EVENTS?
We hope to be able to open as soon as safely possible. We anticipate that with Phase 4 (currently scheduled for July 1 in the Capital Region) will come the possibility of hosting more and more people but cannot say for certain what the direction will be from NYS.
WILL THE ACC BE CLOSED TO VISITORS WHEN MEETINGS ARE TAKING PLACE?
The ACC is not typically open to unregistered guests or patrons simply walking through the facility but stricter protocols for ensuring all persons in the facility are registered attendees for the specific events occurring in the building will be in place. Again, this will be important to comply with Contact Tracing measures.
IF AN EVENT REQUIRES MORE SPACE THAN THEY HAVE CONTRACTED IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE THE APPROPRIATE SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES, WILL THAT AFFECT THE RENTAL COST?
As long as the need for additional space is to ensure the typical event program complies with social distancing and safety measures, there will not be any additional rental charged.
HOW WILL THE SET UP OF MY EVENT BE DIFFERENT WITH SOCIAL DISTANCING IN EFFECT?
Depending on restrictions we will be creative working with our clients on different set up options. We will rely heavily on our décor partners as well as our AV partners to help with creative solutions to what we can assume will be hybrid exhibit halls (some in person and some virtual). Please contact your Albany Capital Center Sales Representative for specific floor plan and event questions.
WHAT TYPES OF CHANGES SHOULD I EXPECT IN REGARDS TO CATERING? WILL ALL MEALS BE PREPACKAGED?
Our dedicated catering team will work with you on your event's specific needs and requests to ensure high quality food is delivered safely according to official regulations. We expect we will still be able to offer full, plated meals and food stations with added station attendants. Plated meals will be the same however the staff will of course be in masks and rubber gloves at all times. The items that are actually set as part of the table setups could also be modified if recommended. Example being that Salt and Pepper could be on request so we could make sure to sanitize them after each use. Station attendants will eliminate all the potential cross handling of the utensils or buffet ware. Depending on further guidance and regulations, we will also have plexiglass protection if recommended. All prepackaged food is also available if that is what will make our guests feel the most comfortable.
